Mbappe made way for Goncalo Ramos in the 65th minute, just a few minutes after Vitinha scored the opening goal. This caused Mbappe to only play the full 90 minutes in one of the last seven matches in Ligue 1. Enrique expressed his indignation at being challenged about his decision: “People do not agree with his decision.” I? I don’t care. Every week there are questions like that. It’s boring. I’m the coach, the one who makes the decisions every week. I will try my best to help PSG and will do this until the last day together in Paris”.

Mbappe expressed surprise when he was substituted in the 65th minute and faced jeers from Marseille fans as he left the field. After the match, he shared on Instagram an image of himself in the rain, holding the PSG captain’s armband at the moment he was substituted.

Information about Mbappe leaving PSG when his contract ends on June 30, 2024 has lost his position at Parc des Princes. The Frenchman is said to have agreed a five-year deal with Real Madrid.

Enrique once explained: “Sooner or later, PSG will have to play without Mbappe. So we need to get used to that. I’m looking for the best options for the team.” He also discussed the possibility of replacing Mbappe in a similar way in the Champions League.

Before the match against Marseille, Enrique hinted at the possibility of Mbappe staying at PSG next season: “Why is this the last match? I always hope Mbappe can change his mind. Currently he has not said anything about the future and can change his mind. Imagine PSG winning four titles this season and Mbappe decides at the last minute that he wants to stay in Paris. Why not, let’s wait and see.”

In the match against Marseille, PSG still won 2-0 despite playing with 10 people after Lucas Beraldo received a red card. This result helps PSG equal Lyon’s record of being unbeaten in 21 consecutive away matches in Ligue 1 from March 2005 to April 2006.

Enrique praised the atmosphere at the Velodrome and said it was the first time he participated in the “Classic” match of French football. Before the match, Marseille’s group of enthusiastic fans showed their enthusiasm by lighting fireworks in the stands.
